I am Ozzy and I’m from Kusadasi, Izmir, Turkey. Kusadasi is an amazing city that is famous for it’s beautiful nature, sun and beaches. You should visit sometime, as my guest! I graduated from medical school in 2004 and finished otorhinolaryngology (Head and neck surgery) residency in 2010, and started to work as a head and neck surgeon in Istanbul.
Although I loved living in Istanbul, my dream was to live for a while overseas ever since I was a little kid. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone, and experience living in a culture that was so different from mine. Finally, I came to Japan in October 2015 for research about head and neck cancers. Since then, I have been attending head and neck surgeries on Mondays and Fridays. The other weekdays I am doing basic research about head and neck cancers. Of course Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday all day I am with you at OEC.
When I’m not studying cancer and teaching English I like to go to the gym, spending time with friends and trying to prepare my playlist for the next Friday, because I am a DJ every Friday night. Beyond these, travelling is one of my hobbies and I love going on trips around Japan. Living in Japan has been an amazing experience; I have learned a lot, met many wonderful people and had many good memories already.
Dream BIG! But, don’t forget dreams without goals are just dreams.
